Technical Requirements
Software: Our player only requires the free Flash Player plug-in for your web browser, which is often already installed. If not, you can install the latest version of the Flash Player plug-in at: http://www.adobe.com/go/getflashplayer
Hardware: Windows, Mac and Linux machines are supported. We recommend a machine with at least a 1 GHz processor and at least 256 MB of memory (RAM). A sound card, which is often already installed, with speakers or headphones is also required.
Internet Connection: Your player experience is only as good as your internet connection speed. You will need a broadband connection (e.g. cable modem or DSL) for the best performance.

Using the Player
Question: Why am I hearing your stream on a delay from the over the air broadcasts?
We intentionally delay the online broadcast by a few seconds to allow the player to "buffer". This decreases the likelihood that the audio will drop-out and provides a better experience.

Question: Why do I hear different commercials, public service announcements and music when you are playing commercials over the actual airwaves?
Contracts with certain voice-over actors/talent and commercial production agencies prohibit us from carrying our normal over-the-air commercials. Most of these are extracted from the stream. We then insert specials ads into the stream so you don't hear dead air for minutes at a time. We play free public service announcements as way of helping non-profit and community groups get their messages out.

Question: Can I participate in on-air contests I hear about through the online stream?
Station contests are only open to listeners who reside within the Station's TSA (total survey area) as defined by Arbitron Inc. Listeners via the internet stream should not participate in on-air contesting due to technical delay and geographic scope of the internet. If you do not live in an area where you can hear the station normally on the radio, you would not be eligible to win any on-air contests.

Question: The video I was watching ended and the player began playing a new video I didn't click on. Why?
This is a feature called "Linear Streaming". We pre-program playlists of related content we think you'll enjoy. This means that after watching a particular video you will be served related content until the end of the playlist has been reached. You may select different content to play at any time during the linear stream.

Question: Why do you block some programs on your stream that I can hear on you over the air radio station?
Occasionally, we do not have the rights to stream certain sports or music programs.

Troubleshooting
Question: I clicked to open the player but nothing happened. Why?
The player opens in a new browser window, so your pop-up blocker may be preventing the player from opening. When clicking to launch the player, you may see a notification at the top of your browser. If using Firefox, click Options and select always allow pop-ups from this site. The Google and Yahoo toolbar may also be blocking the popup.
To prevent this from occurring in the future, you may want to configure your browser's pop-up settings to allow kexradio.com as an exception.

Question: My player says "buffering" a lot and the audio/video is frequently stopping and starting. What can I do?
The player needs a steady stream of data from the internet to play. Slower connections may cause the content to constantly buffer or never load. We recommend a broadband connection when viewing our on demand content, listening to our online stream and viewing our site.
If you already have a broadband connection, try closing unnecessary programs that are running at the same time. You may also try pausing any large downloads you have in progress or other applications that require a continuous internet connection.

Question: The player redirects me to a page saying I am not allowed to listen. Why?
Due to licensing restrictions, we are not able to offer our streaming and on demand content outside of the United States. If you are located on an international US Military Base, please fill out the form on the page to request access. If you have done this once before, note that military bases frequently change their internet protocol, so if you were unblocked once before and are blocked now, please send the request again and we will update our settings. It is difficult to keep up to date with these changes, so we apologize.
Sometimes businesses route their internet connection outside of the country. This is often the case with companies who have headquarters outside the US (e.g. Honda or Hyundai). Unfortunately, we would not be able to allow access to you even if your office is located in the US.
If you feel you are being incorrectly blocked, please contact us.

Question: I've emailed you a question, comment, complaint or compliment and haven't heard back from you today or yesterday. Why?
We wish we could respond to everyone immediately, but we do not have 24/7 customer support. Please know that we do appreciate all feedback and do try to get back to everyone eventually.
